Condition:

Unlined, stretcher edge reinforced. Two repaired tears, one a vertical tear at lower right (in trees) measuring approximately 4 inches, and a two inch horizontal tear at upper center, with associated patches on the reverse, approximately 5 x 2 1/2 and 2 x 3 1/2 inches. Treatment Performed (Summer 2017) 1. Consolidate areas of flaking paint with BEVA 371. 2. Remove grime layer, discolored varnish and selectively old retouchings from painting. 3. Remove canvas from stretcher and reinforce torn tacking edges with Polyester Reemay adhered with BEVA 371 4. Replace painting onto stretcher, key out to restore tension. 5. Fill areas of paint loss with Modostuc filler 6. Apply new varnish of BEVA varnish (Regalrez resin with U V stabilizer). 7. Retouch as necessary with resin colors (Maimeri).
